A video has been released of Phoenix Police officers holding Dravon Ames, 22, his pregnant fiancée, 24-year-old Iesha Harper and their two young children at gunpoint.
The video released showed police using excessive force and threatening to shoot the pregnant mother after allegedly the 4 year old little girl took a doll from the local family dollar.
In the video both officers pull up to the car where the couple were sitting in at a local apartment complex yelling profanity, aggressively rushing the couple to get out to the vehicle. As soon as Dravon Ames is detained his is physically assaulted by the holding officer who kicks Mr. Ames legs apart forcing him to drop to his knees while ranting to force his authority.
The other officer can be seen cursing and threatening to Iesha Harpr while she held her youngest baby rushing her and the children out of the car with his gun drawn on them. After Ms. Harper got out of the car the officer continued to harass her then the other officer come up and tries to grab the baby out of her hands. A resident of the complex interviened for the children sake and the officers continue to harrass Ms. Harper and Mr. Ames.
Roc Nation has secured high-profile attorney Alex Spiro to join the family's legal team pro-bono and plans on filing against one of the officers for child neglect. The couple has filed a notice of claim against the city for $10 million, which serves as a precursor to a lawsuit.
